n gets irritated v easily. ESP with her mother
who niams at her for everything
n who screams at me or vents her anger on me ..

but yet. come to tink about. marie vents her anger on her mum sometimes when she is v irritated with the world too.
so. she should learn to control her temper cos her mum is her mum regardless of how much she seems to love her brother more than marie n scolds marie for everything.
cos when marie gets annoyed n screams back.
she feels real bad after that.

marie is a girl who can be jealous v easily cos of wad happened in the past
but.
she is learning to slowly open her heart n accept that if things r meant to be. they will be
n indeed when she opens her heart. she feels way happier!=)

sometimes.. marie feels that she loves her friends more than her family
cos... ppl just dun get as irritated with frens as they get with family.. hahaa
but. when she rethinks about this..
she realizes.
every individual that she has met is impt to her in different ways
so they cannot be compared like how u cant compare an apple and a pear
they r different but both as great n irreplaceable

this 4 months holiday is a good time for marie to learn to see things in different light
cos if she doesnt
she will nv be happy
this holidays.. she hopes that she can spend more time with her father n try to make him happier in little ways. cos when he is happy. so will her mum be. n so will marie n her family be..

life is unprecedented
no matter how we hope and expect things to happen in ways we want
it may. but it may not.
when life is able to fall nicely in place with one's ideals
one is happy
but when life doesnt
it doesnt matter. cos thatz wad life is
fraught with uncertainty.
its good to plan ahead
but its not good to overplan

but sometimes .. circumstances forces u to sulk n pout
but when that happens
onli u can make a change n turn the situation for the better

<3 n claps to ah ma n ah gong.. 80 plus years old! they r jie di lian ok! n arranged mariage. but they r still so loving.. n ah ma is v v v v cute one.. the way she sees n eats durian exactly like my mummy.. n ah gong is so fit he walked thru everything! angkor wat etc etc etc.. he was the onli one of the 3 old folks who walked thru EVERYTHING in the hot sun.. n didnt fall sick. ah ma also nv fall sick. but she didnt walk thru everything or climb hill.. haha! they rock lo! n to the weaker young ppl like us get well soon! =) cambodia! but.. at the same time.. i quite like wad i've learnt in soci compared to sucky engine.
cos at least its more applicable to human life. it may be slightly one sided or sth cos we apply wad we learn but there are bound to be endless stuffs that we know not of as well.

to being a student in schools.. in ntu ( self as a social structure.. whereby we see n define ourselves in relation to the perpectives of others. when we enter sch. we see ourselves as students. but also. we see ourselves as a "student self" and this self is united and structured as we see ourselves in the perspectives of others.. teachers. profs. etc. self concept, self efficacy, self conception is affected by our identities. the more salient and the more centralized that identity is to us. the more it'll affect our self conception. also. self esteem, which is the negative and positive feelings of self is derived from generalized others, social comparisons, with our past n present n others.. our selves are not just formed from the reflected appraisals or perspectives of others. but .. we are engaged in self indication whereby we pick n choose certain details. like we see or hear onli the good stuffs n non of the bad so that we have a positive self esteem etc)

to being just a human being in society ( self as a dramatic effect. we perform roles. we are like actors on a stage. backstage n frontstage... like when i was working in cartel. the difference in our behaviors in the front stage or the dining area n the behaviors n actions in the back stage, kitchen.. to wad we wear that charac ourselves.. branded stuffs. we see ourselves as cool haaha! .. )

culture, social structures are all formed from action. roles we play. consists of our expectations for others as well as their expectations for us, which is our obligations. etc

the importance of language. help us have a common understanding. if not i wouldnt be able to blog n u would be able to understand wad i was trying to express
n we would have difficulty in formulating our lines of actions. fit our lines of actions together like wad Blumer mentions. joint action. roles. role-take, cognitive, we imagine wad action we should do in the viewpoint of others. etc.. role embracement, role distancing..

postmodern era is the era whereby there is like no stable social meanings.. constantly changing, disneyfication of reality, realiity is being made "real", and there is increasing personal autonomy, we are able to make choices etc. there is an irrelevance of the past n future.. dun care about future, economic crisis. .. past. dialects are disappearing. etc. n there is a decreasing relevance of Truth, and common morality. due to time space compression. see the world differently. ppl from different places.. hence.. more of "truths" instead of an absolute "Truth... this is a pragmatist viewpoint.. for rationalists.. they see society more of static and no fluid unlike pragmatists(social constructioniss) etc
